The Freedom of Information Act deals with access to official information and gives individuals or organisations the right to request information from any public authority. A copy of the Act and explanatory notes published with the Act is available from the HMSO Website
Under the terms of the Act, any member of the public can apply for access to information held by bodies across the public sector, including Parliament, Government departments, local authorities, health trusts, doctors’ surgeries, publicly funded museums and many other organisations. Pattingham & Patshull Parish Council has adopted the
Model Publication scheme as approved by the Information Commissioner.
The Council has also produced a "Guide to Information" which specifies what information the Council will routinely publish, in what formats that information will be available, and whether the Council will charge for providing the information and if so the level of charge.
